Course Title: Paediatric First Aid

Course length: 12 hours / 1-2 days

This 12hr course is a requirement of all Childcare Practitioners who require registration by OFSTED, this includes Childminders, Nannies, Nursery Practitioners, Pre School and After School Club Staff. The course is also suitable for Security / Close Protection Officers who may have to deal with Paediatric emergencies. It is a requirement of the Health & Safety law that employers should provide a safe and healthy environment for their employees.

Who is this for?

If your organisation needs paediatric First Aiders, then this Level 3 qualification will provide you with suitable, highly trained personnel.  This comprehensive course covers a wide range of Paediatric First Aid emergencies, enabling all participants to deal with an emergency situation with confidence in a prompt, safe and effective way.

Our Paediatric First Aid Course Covers:

This course will give your people a qualification to a high level; with a minimum of 12 hours spread over two days. For those who only require a 1 day (6hr) course who work in Schools and practitioners not responsible for EYFS aged children you can attend the first half of the course only and will receive a 6hr certificate.

A range of subjects is covered including:

  • Incident Management
  • Basic Life Support
  • Airway Obstruction
  • Asthma and Hyperventilation
  • Control of Severe Bleeding
  • Shock
  • Anaphylaxis and Epi-Pen / Ana-Pen use

This course meets the criteria required by The Department for Education and Skills (DFES). On successful completion, a nationally recognised qualification valid for three years will be awarded.

  • Stroke.
